Specialization in oncology, the study of cancer, will be a new offering this fall in the master's degree program at the University of Utah College of Nursing.
The oncology clinical nurse specialist training program will be funded by a three-year, $268,845 federal grant from the U.S. Public Health Service Division of Nursing. The grant was awarded to Kathi H. Mooney, associate professor of nursing and director of the oncology program.Applicants must have a bachelor's degree in nursing with a 3.0 grade point average in undergraduate work and must take the Graduate Record Examination.
