Service projects have always been and continue to be a focal point of Young Men and Young Women activities in this part of Australia. Therefore, youths in the Paradise Ward were thrilled when the office of Keep South Australia Beautiful (KESAB) requested their assistance with a special project. Workers at KESAB wanted to implement an education program for residents in the Enfield Council. On three previous occasions, the council had attempted tree-planting programs, but each resulted in vandalism.

Because the Paradise Ward's youths were consistently involved in various community service projects, KESAB workers asked them for help. The council had prepared an information pamphlet regarding the upcoming tree-planting in a number of parks. The pamphlet sought assistance to reduce vandalism and to increase the community's awareness of the importance of trees in the area. The youths delivered the pamphlets to all households. KESAB personnel, impressed with their willingness to assist, presented the youths with an award for their participation.
