Dorothy May Smoker Knight, 70, peacefully passed away on the stormy morning of May 24, 1990.

She is survived by her children, Patricia Gillett; and Pamela Kirkman, both Salt Lake City; David Knight, Tucson, Ariz.; Dianne Christiansen, Bear River; nine grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters, William and Sam Smoker; Dora Rivers; and Helen Griffith.Dorothy found special joy in her children, grandchildren and genealogy work. Her life was spent in giving. Her professions as nurse, wife, mother, and grandmother, exemplified service and sacrifice. After so many years of selfless giving, she died in the care of those who loved her most. Dorothy will be sorely missed.

Graveside services will be Tuesday, 11 a.m., Mnt. View Memorial Cemetery, 3115 East 7800 South, SLC. Friends may call Sunday, 6-7 p.m. at the Olsen-Myers Mortuary in Brigham City, and at the Mnt View Memorial Estates Mortuary, Tuesday, 10-10:45 a.m.
