Irving Evans Andersen, 81, of Orem, died May 23, 1990, at the Carewest Convalescent Center in Clearfield, Utah.
He was born January 19, 1909 a son of Martin and Mary Jane Evans Andersen in Brigham City. He married Marie Christensen of Tetonia, Idaho, June 29, 1939, in the Logan LDS Temple. Following graduation from Utah State University, he had experience in agriculture, teaching, and construction, but spent most of his life as an insurance salesman. His life was noted for his compassion and service to his fellowman. He was a High Priest in the LDS Church and held various positions including ward clerk, stake Seventies president, and temple worker.Survivors include his wife Marie of Orem, seven children, N. Roger Andersen of Fruit Heights, Utah; Thayne Andersen of Fairbanks, Alaska; Richard Andersen of American Fork; Susan Nesbit of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Lucy Andersen of Detroit, Michigan; Martin Andersen of Provo; Peter Andersen of Dillingham, Alaska; 27 grandchildren, one brother and one sister, Wesley Andersen of Brigham City, Sarah Rallison of Anaheim, California.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 29, 1990, at 10 a.m. in the Hillcrest 4th Ward Chapel, 800 South 440 East. Friends may call Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State in Orem and also one hour prior to the services at the ward chapel. Interment will be in the Orem City Cemetery.
