William Leland Shaw, age 78, died May 24, 1990, in Salt Lake City, Utah, after an extended illness.
Born December 2, 1911, Liberty, Utah, the son of James Leon and Naomi Rhodes Shaw. Married Twila Petersen, February 14, 1939 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Member LDS Church and fulfilled a mission in the Western States Mission. Attended LDS Business College. Worked as a fireman at the Naval Depot in Clearfield, Utah for many years. Much of his spare time was spent with apartments he owned and operated. He later moved to Farmington, Utah, still involved with his apartments. He purchased and built a trailer park in Manila, Utah, and retired thereafter. After retirement Twila and he traveled extensively. He loved life, the out-of-doors, hunting and fishing. He loved people and had a deep concern for anyone in need.Survived by his wife; son, Gary Leland Shaw, both of Salt Lake City; brother, Lyle Shaw, Ogden, Utah; and a sister, Mary Shaw, Salt Lake City. Preceded in death by a son, Kent James Shaw; a brother, Norris Shaw and a sister, Neta Walker.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, May 30th, 12 Noon, in the Liberty Cemetery, Liberty, Utah. There will be a viewing at the Cemetery from 11am-12Noon. Funeral Directors, Larkin Mortuary, Salt Lake City.
