Marguerite Sommers Vernon the most wonderful and most loved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend passed from this life on May 25th, 1990 at her home in Sandy, Utah following a gallant fight against a serious illness.

Born March 12, 1919 in Devil's Slide, Utah to Daniel Wilford and Leona Wilson Sommers. She married Gale Edward Vernon on July 31, 1943 in El Centro, California. She loved life and lived it to the fullest. Her husband preceded her in death and she continued to operate his fur business for the past four years. She supported him and has been very successful in continuing to run and manage the business. She was an officer in the PTA and was active in other civic organizations. Her greatest love and achievement however, was her family. She dedicated her life to making them happy. She gave so much to them and will always be remembered for all that she did. She loved to swim, dance, sew, cook, golf, fish, read, and make other people happy. She has scores of friends and associates and was always honest and kind in all she did. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. The family would like to acknowledge the sincere efforts of all the doctors, nurses, and friends who helped in so many ways.She is survived by two daughters, Jan Leatham and Debbie Lloyd, both of Sandy; son-in-law, Doug Lloyd; eight grandchildren, Nicole, Natasha, Sheena, Matthew, Brandon, Mikey, Trent (T.J.), and Taylor; two sisters, Glenna London, Albuquerque, New Mexico; and Betty Peterson, Morgan, Utah.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 30, 1990, at 2:00 p.m. in the Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary Chapel, 10600 South 1700 East, Sandy, where friends may call Tuesday 7:00-9:00 p.m. and Wednesday one hour prior to the service. Interment Larkin Sunset Gardens.
