Eight students will be honored as valedictorians in Utah State University's commencement, Saturday, June 2. They will be recognized in the commencement ceremony that begins at 9:30 a.m. in the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.
In addition, one of the eight will deliver the valedictory address in the graduation program of each of the eight academic colleges, which take place following the general commencement program.Those to be honored include:
-College of Agriculture - Jay Jenson Schindler, Idaho Falls, Idaho, who is graduating in bioveterinary science.
-College of Business - Robert Phillips, Rigby, Idaho, an accounting major.
-College of Education - Richard M. Welch, Corinne, Box Elder County, a secondary education major with a sociology minor.
-College of Engineering - Kraig L. Anderson, Logan, graduating in electrical engineering.
-College of Family Life - Dixie Phillips, Smithfield, Cache County, whose major is family and human development.
-College of Humanities, Arts & Social Sciences - Michael R. Johnson, Tooele, who is graduating in political science and pre-law.
-College of Natural Resources - Heather McSharry, Salt Lake City, a fisheries and wildlife major.
-College of Science - Reese B. Jones, Brigham City, a computer science student with a minor in mathematics.
