A band of showers heavy in some places moved across the Wasatch Front Wednesday morning, and another storm is expected Thursday and will continue Friday.

But the weekend weather picture looks good, said National Weather Service meteorologist William J. Alder. Those planning a weekend outing will probably be able to do without worrying that the weather will spoil too many of their plans.

A number of northern Utah areas received fairly substantial amounts of moisture Tuesday night and early Wednesday. Tooele measured 0.94 of an inch; Provo and Brigham Young University 0.22 inch; North Salt Lake, 0.44 inch; Centerville, 0.53 inch; and the Salt Lake Airport, 0.34 inch.

Temperatures should reach about 70 degrees Wednesday and Thursday along the Wasatch Front, with overnight lows near 50. Highs Friday could be in the mid-60s, but the temperature will probably climb back into the 70s by the weekend, Alder said.
