Known to many as "Uncle Henry", Henry Johann Welch, 89, passed away peacefully, May 29, 1990, in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Born September 29, 1900, Eschringen, Sarr, Germany, the son of Johann H. and Katherine Kihm Welsch. Married Viola Johnson, May 26, 1928, Evanston, Wyoming. High Priest in the L.D.S. Church, Edgehill, Ward. Henry was a well known chief in many of the local restaurants, including many years at the Ft. Douglas Club. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing. In his later years, he became very proficient in needlepoint, winning many awards.

Survivors include his daughter, Lynn Welch, Salt Lake City; two sons, Donn V. (wife Joyce) Welch, Salt Lake City; and Gilbert H. (wife Robin) Welch, Hanford, California; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Friday, June 1st, 12 noon, Holbrook Funeral Chapel, 3251 So. 2300 East, where friends may call Thursday evening from 7-8 and on Friday for one hour prior to the services. Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. Funeral Directors: the Holbrook Funeral Chapel.
