Gunmen killed two policemen in the cocaine capital of Medellin Thursday, bringing to 42 the number of law officers killed in that city this month, police said.
Security forces in Medellin also found an abandoned car containing nearly 80 pounds of dynamite, a Metropolitan Police spokesman said.A series of bombs exploded in Medellin and several other cities in the two weeks preceding Sunday's presidential elections, killing 37 people and wounding about 350.
Authorities have blamed the powerful Medellin cocaine cartel for the bombings and assassinations of policemen.

The cartel has offered to pay $4,300 to anyone willing to kill a policeman.
