The Salt Lake County offices of United Savings Bank/Western Mortgage Loan Corp. registered 281 mortgage recordings in the first quarter of 1990, a 40 percent increase over the 201 in the same period a year ago.
Company officials said the dollar volume of the recordings increased 47 percent to $19.7 million from $13.4 million in the same period a year ago.Mary Garner, vice president for mortgage operations, said the figures represent a 10 percent market share in the number of recordings and dollar volume, making it No. 1 in loan production in the market.
The Weber County offices had 54 mortgage loans in the first quarter of 1990, a 35 percent increase over the 40 in the same period a year ago. Dollar volume increased from $2.5 million in the first three months of 1989 to $3.2 million in the same period this year.
The Orem office had 28 mortgage loans in the first quarter this year, a 155 percent increase over the 11 last year. The dollar volume increased from 1989's $600,000 to $1.7 million this year, a 183 percent increase.
In the Davis County office, employees registered 108 mortgage loans in the first quarter, an 80 percent increase over the 60 in the same period in 1989. Dollar volume increased 62 percent from $4.5 million a year to $7.3 million this year.
