The remains of what appears to be a man who probably died 50 years ago have been found in a cave about 15 miles northwest of Gooding, officials say.

Gooding County Sheriff Robert Aja said the remains will be sent to a Colorado State University anthropologist who will make more exact identifications, and with the sheriff's office will try to reconstruct the body's history.Aja said the remains were discovered by an instructor at a survivalist school. They were partially covered with a mound of dirt and a pile of rocks that appeared deliberately set.

Although the body could have been someone who was lost and sought refuge from the cold in the cave, it could have been a murder victim.
