About 7:45 p.m. Thursday a call came into Salt Lake County emergency dispatchers. A man had been stabbed.

After he had been treated and transported to the emergency room at Pioneer Valley Hospital, another man came driving his car in.He, too, had been stabbed.

Then a third man came in with a bloody nose, and a fourth, also hit in the face.

All of them were probably victims of the same three assailants.

The stabbing and assaults occurred in or near a Kearns home at about 5200 West and 5400 South.

"Two got punched in the nose," said Salt Lake County Sheriff's Lt. Ben Forbes, of the second two victims.

A nursing supervisor at Pioneer Valley Hospital said two men with knife wounds received emergency surgery Thursday night. The nursing supervisor said one of the victims was stabbed twice, in the chest and abdomen, and another was stabbed in the abdomen.

She said one is in stable condition while the other is in serious but stable condition. The sheriff's office did not release the identity of any of the victims.

Forbes believes the suspects and the victims knew each other.

Forbes said, witnesses reported a knock came at the door, "they were invited into the house, knives were produced and they were stabbed."

Forbes said he had been unable to interview the stabbing victims because they were in surgery. "We don't know what the cause (of the fight) was," he said.
