ESSAY WINNER WILL SPEAK AT DAR'S FLAG DAY PROGRAM

The Princess Timpanogos chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will host a Flag Day program on Saturday, June 9. The program, open to the public, will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the Fort Douglas park and picnic area.

Featured speaker will be Carrie Lynn Hillier, national winner of the DAR American History Month Essay Contest. The winner, a fifth-grader at Crestview Elementary School at the time the award was given, was chosen out of 84,808 entrants in the essay contest.Immediately following the picnic lunch, members are invited to go to the Mount Olivet cemetery to honor Harriet Sells Wetmore, the first regent of the Spirit of Liberty chapter.
