SATURDAY WALKATHON TO BENEFIT CHILDREN WHO HAVE AIDS

Utah State Fusion Inc., a non-profit organization that provides financial assistance to people with AIDS, is sponsoring a "Walk 'n' Roll" walk-athon campaign Saturday, June 2, from Murray Park, 5200 S. State, to the Utah State Capitol Building.

Leading the walk, scheduled to begin at 8 a.m., will be roving saxophonist Benjamin Cabey, who is president of Utah State Fusion.Cabey said that Fusion's immediate fund-raising emphasis is to assist children with personal and medical needs. Donations are administered by Dr. Lyn Ford at the University of Utah Hemophilia Center.

Cabey said guidelines for Saturday's fund-raiser are:

- Participants may walk or use roller skates, skateboards or bicycles but nothing that is motorized.

- There will be no water stations along the route, so plan to bring a canteen or purchase refreshments along the way.

- Transportation to Murray Park or from the State Capitol will not be provided. Make arrangements ahead of time.

Money donated will be for the entire walk, not on a "per mile" basis, and will be collected before the walk begins.

Following the walkathon group's arrival at the Capitol there will be a short performance by members of Fusion and a talk by Ford.

Preregistration is not necessary.

Individuals and corporations interested in making financial contributions, in addition to those collected at Murray Park, may mail them to:
