JEFFERSON SCHOOL CAN DEAL WITH CROWDING UNTIL 1993

Crowding at Jefferson Junior High School will be manageable at least through 1992-93 with optimal building use, optional busing to Churchill Junior High and the use of traveling teachers.

Diane Hesleph, junior high school representative in the Granite District administration, said Tuesday that she does not see the necessity for extraordinary steps at Jefferson for the next few years.A committee has been studying options to alleviate overcrowding at the school. Out-migration and changing demographics appear to be naturally ameliorating the situation, Hesleph said.

"The good news is that there is time to continue to study the options and the changing demographics before making any major investments," she reported to the Granite Board.

The committee had offered several options, including new construction on the west side of the valley to resolve the problem.
