BUSH APPOINTEE TO COMMERCE HAS UTAH TIES

Marianne Hansen, a Bush administration appointee during the president's first year in office, is serving as a congressional affairs specialist at the Census Bureau, an agency of the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Hansen is a daughter of Rose and Don Hansen of Salt Lake City. She joined the Commerce Department as an appointee during the Reagan administration and was reappointed by the Bush administration. She is one of 230 appointed employees in the department.
