DEATH: ALICE KNODER THOMAS NELSON

Alice Louise Knoder Thomas Nelson, age 84, died June 10, 1990 at the home of a daughter in Sandy, Utah.

She was born October 24, 1905 in Evanston, Wyoming to Charles and Sarah Shipley Knoder. She married Alma Thomas in Collinston, Utah on December 24, 1921. Alma preceded her in death September 6, 1943. Alice married Leonard Nelson in Evanston, Wyoming on September 17, 1945. Leonard preceded her in death October 23, 1988. Alice attended school in Ogden, Utah and was known for her skills in baking, sewing, canning, crocheting and embrodiery work. She enjoyed baby sitting for many years and was a longtime resident of Murray.Survivors: Children, Mrs. Harvey (Edith) Biggs, South San Francisco, California; Mrs. David (Alma) Stairs, Carleton, Nebraska; Mrs. Robert (Janice) Reid, West Valley City, Utah; Mrs. Gail (Alice) Lucas, Sandy, Utah; 23 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; brother and sisters, Mrs. William (Virginia) Shea, Garden Grove, California; Earl Knoder, Ogden, Utah; Mrs. Katherine Woolsey, Morgan, Utah; also many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by four children, Charles, Marlin, Wallace and Joyce; brother, Clifford Knoder.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 14, 1990, 11 a.m., in the Goff Mortuary Chapel, 8090 So. State St., where friends may call Wednesday, 6-8 p.m., and Thursday, one hour prior to services. Interment, Murray City Cemetery.
