A domestic squabble has ended in the apprehension of a woman accused of attempted homicide 15 months ago.
Arvella Cowdell, 43, was charged Tuesday in the Orem 4th Circuit Court, and bail was reduced from $50,000 to $25,000 cash. She was assigned an attorney, and a preliminary hearing date was set for June 27.Police spokesman Gerald Nielsen said police were called to a home in Salt Lake County on a domestic violence case Monday. While there they discovered a warrant had been issued for Cowdell's arrest.
On March 17, 1989, Cowdell allegedly pursued her former husband and his new wife north on I-15. Cowdell brandished a long-barreled pistol and shot twice at the front right tire, came around to the driver's side and shot once at the front left tire and left the scene, police said.
According to Nielsen, she changed her appearance and identity, making it difficult to trace her.
Cowdell remains in custody at the Utah County Jail.
