DEATH: FRANCIS EUGENE NEY

Gene Ney, age 63, passed away at the LDS Hospital June 11, 1990 with his family at his side and after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born April 11, 1927 in Magna, Utah to Lester Martin and Lydia Titcomb Ney. Married Echo Beauregard on October 16, 1949. Marriage solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. Gene drove semi-truck for Whitfield Transportation and P.I.E. for over 30 years, where he earned numerous safe driving awards and "Utah Driver of the Year" in 1974. Lived in Monticello for 8 years where he served as Scoutmaster and had 13 boys earn Eagle Rank under his leadership. Retired from P.I.E. October 1989. His C B handle was "Reject".Survived by wife, Echo; five grown children and their mates, Steve and Heidi, Kearns; Craig and Pixie, Salt Lake City; Glenn and Cindy, Sandy; Kent and Carla Mangum, West Jordan; Bruce and Mona, West Jordan; 16 grandchildren; brother, Bud Ney, Murray; special brother-in-law, LeR Beauregard and family, Bountiful.

Gene's family extends special thanks for the care and consideration extended by the staff and doctors of LDS Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 15, 1990, at 1 p.m. in the Goff Mortuary Chapel, 8090 So. State St., where friends may call Thursday 7-9 P.M. and Friday one hour prior to services.
