IHC CONSIDERS BUILDING NEW FACILITY

The Utah company that operates Cassia Memorial Hospital and Medical Center is considering construction of a new facility in Burley for up to $15 million.

Richard Packer, administrator at Cassia Memorial, told Burley-area business leaders Monday that Intermountain Health Care of Salt Lake City will decide this summer whether to go ahead with the project.Construction could begin by 1991 at one of three 40-acre sites being considered along the Snake River, he said.

Packer said Intermountain Health Care would finance the project itself, and may raise some fees about 4 percent to help offset the cost of the new hospital and an adjoining $2 million professional building.
