Free meals for low-income children are being offered this summer by the Salt Lake School District at 21 sites throughout the county.
The summer food program, which began this week, runs until Aug. 17 at 21 sites.Children who are members of food stamp households or receive Assistance to Family with Dependent Children are automatically eligible to receive free meals. Children will receive services without regard to race, color, national origin, sex, handicap or age.
Free meals will be served to all children if the site meets the criteria of having 50 percent or more of the children come from low-income families.
