FIRETRUCK OUTLAY OK'D

The Kaysville City Council has approved spending $314,000 to buy a new firetruck for the city, funds included in the current year's budget, according to City Manager John Thacker.

The city is buying a new ladder truck to update its fire equipment and deal with the construction of larger, taller buildings in Kaysville.Fire Chief Don Howard said the city's newest piece of equipment is 21 years old. Purchase of a new truck has been discussed periodically for more than five years, according to Howard, and the bidding process for the truck purchase has taken six months.
