DEATH: CLEMONT "MONTY" NEILSON

Clemont "Monty" Neilson, 63, died June 13, 1990 in St. George, Utah.

Born January 5, 1927 in Washington, Utah, to Isabelle Prisbrey and Peter Taylor Neilson. Married Beverly Peterson, September 18, 1946 in Cedar City, Utah. Marriage later solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple. He was a Merchant Marine, veteran of World War II, serving in the Philippines. Former Iron County Deputy Sheriff. Life-time member of the Sons of the Utah Pioneers. Member of the VFW. Active High Priest in the LDS Church, worked especially with the young. Known for his mechanical ingenuity. Owned and operated Monty's Cedar Service for many years. Enjoyed boating on Lake Powell in the boat he restored, Temple service, travel and the mountains. His greatest joy came from his family.Survivors; wife, Cedar City; two sons, two daughters, Vaughn C. and Ann Neilson, J. Curt and Jane Neilson; Lorie and Dana DeMille, all of Cedar City; Belinda and Bill Barlet, Littleton, Colorado; 15 grandchildren; three brothers, five sisters, Bryon and Belle Hulet, both of Cedar City; Mary Anderson, Wheatridge, Colorado; Ray, Gaydria Russell, Janice Hoffman, all Las Vegas, Nevada; Linda Wilkinson and Jay, both of St. George; preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, DeMoine, Jerry, LaVar and Wayne.

Funeral services will be held Monday, 1 p.m., in the Cedar City LDS Rock Church. Friends may call Sunday 7-9 p.m. and Monday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Southern Utah Mortuary. Burial: Cedar City Cemetery.
