BARRY JURY SEATED

A jury consisting mostly of black women was seated Monday to hear the drug and perjury trial of Mayor Marion Barry.

The jury of 12 regulars and six alternates consisted of 15 women - a dozen of them black - and three men. Thirteen members of the panel are black, and five are white.The jury, seated after an hour of whittling down of a larger group of potential jurors selected over two weeks, was to be sequestered later Monday, with opening arguments scheduled for Tuesday morning, U.S. District Judge Thomas Penfield Jackson said.
