AMATEUR WINS BRIGHAM CITY OPEN

Amateur Todd Barker fired a 5-under-par 66 to win the Brigham City Open Sunday at Eagle Mountain Golf Course. The 36-year-old Barker not only beat the amateurs, he defeated all the professionals as well with his fine round. Davis Park pro Brad Stone was the low pro with a 68 and won the $1,450 first-prize check. Barker collected $465 in merchandise.

Six golfers, including pros Lynn Landgren, Mike Malaska and Dave DeSantis and amateurs Ramon Brobio, Mark Domm and Ryan Rhees, came in with 69s. Nine golfers shot 70, including Tommy Williams, who was the low senior golfer.
