EX-UTAH COUNTY MAN FACES SEX-ABUSE TRIAL

A former Pleasant Grove resident, who has pleaded not guilty to charges of sexually abusing two young girls, will stand trial on the charges Sept. 13.

Jonathan Jense, who now lives in Georgia, entered not-guilty pleas to the charges during arraignment Friday in 4th District Court. He was bound over last week after a preliminary hearing in American Fork. The defendant originally faced an additional charge of child rape, but that charge was not bound over. The sexual-abuse charges, second-degree felonies, stem from incidents alleged to have occurred in December 1987 between Jense and two girls, then ages 9 and 7.
