CAPTION ONLY: IS IT REALLY SUMMER?
IS IT REALLY SUMMER?

Teri and Kelly Sanders cover part of their garden to keep it from getting nipped. Their father, Dave Sanders, the lead forecaster with the U.S. Weather Service's Salt Lake office, said Friday evening that near-record cold was expected during the night; clouds kept the day from warming normally. As of 5 p.m., the high temperature for Friday was only 58 degrees, 20 degrees lower than normal for the date. The normal low for June 1 is 49 degrees. The overnight low for the Salt Lake airport was predicted at 39. Temperatures of 31 or 32 were predicted for parts of Utah and Cache counties.
