MERRILL WARNICK, FORMER DAIRYMAN, LDS CHURCH AND CIVIC LEADER, DIES

Merrill N. Warnick, 90, a former LDS stake president, dairyman and civic leader, died June 20, 1990, at his home in the Manila area of Pleasant Grove.

He was born May 17, 1900, in Pleasant Grove and attended schools in that area.Mr. Warnick helped organize the American Dairy Association of Utah, serving as president of the state and national organizations.

He was appointed by then Secretary of Agriculture Ezra Taft Benson to the Dairy Task Committee and was elected national president of the group. He was a member of the Utah State Agricultural College Board of Trustees and for seven years was a Utah State Fair Board director. He was awarded an honorary doctorate from Brigham Young University in 1947.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Manila Ward, 414 W. 8800 North. Friends may call at Olpin Mortuary, 494 S. 300 East, Pleasant Grove, 6-8 p.m. Friday and one hour before services Saturday at the church. Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery.
