Nissan has donated a 1990 Nissan Maxima, worth $20,000, to Weber State College for use in the college's automotive program.
The automobile donation is the first such gift from Nissan to the college in recent years, and is a step toward establishing a cooperative training program with Nissan at the Ogden campus, said Bill Schouten, Nissan service technical training center manager."We're in the process now of negotiating with Weber State," Schouten said. "Nothing is decided yet, but we hope to establish an agreement to make the college a satellite training center."
"Weber State has one of four automotive programs across the nation recognized as producing quality, four-year graduates," Schouten said.
The donated automobile will be used for classroom instruction, campus officials said.
