A Salt Lake woman remained in critical condition following a car accident Friday afternoon.
Debra K. Buckway, 37, 2417 E. 6780 South, lost control of her vehicle as she rounded a corner near 5144 S. Holladay Blvd. at 4:09 p.m. Her pickup left the road and crashed into a utility pole. Salt Lake County Sheriff Sgt. Scott Robinson said Buckway was pinned inside her pickup, requiring nearly 40 minutes for firefighters to free her. Buckway was airlifted to the University of Utah Medical Center, where she was in critical but stable condition.Buckway had a dog with her, who had to be put to sleep, according to Robinson.
