S.L. SCHOOL IS SMITHSONIAN FINALIST

The Hill View Elementary School in Salt Lake City was a finalist Monday in a contest sponsored by the Smithsonian Institution to honor innovators in information technology.

Hill View and its principal, Paul McCarty, were finalists for a program of teaching computer thinking with a scale model of a light-rail system planned for the Salt Lake Valley.The winner was the Jason Project, which allows students, including classes in Utah, to participate in underwater archaeology at various points around the world via computer-controlled hookups.
