13 U. STUDENTS ARE AWARDED SCHOLARSHIPS AND FELLOWSHIPS

Thirteen University of Utah students have been awarded scholarships and fellowships from the U. Honors Program totaling $31,000.

Seven of the students will study abroad this summer under the Honors Foreign Study Scholarship program. Three will study in Cambridge, England, and four will study in Paris.The scholarship winners are: Darren G. Hawkins, Salt Lake City, Phi Kappa Phi graduate fellowship and an honors baccalaureate scholarship; Karen M. Kuralt, Salt Lake City, Sweet Candy Co. scholarship; John D. Newman, Salt Lake City, Sweet Candy Co. scholarship and Kenneth Browning Handley Memorial Scholarship; Daniel Laheru, Salt Lake City, honors baccalaureate scholarship; Laura Marie Lochhead, Bountiful, and Trevor A. Reeve, Midvale, Kenneth Browning Handley Memorial scholarships.

The three students who will spend six weeks in Cambridge are Matthew Christensen, Heidi M. Gurgel and Shalee Snow, all of Salt Lake City. The four who will study in Paris are Shauna Dee Christiansen, Las Vegas; Lecil M. Groberg, Woods Cross; Marcia Dee Nielson and Melissa Ann Webb, Salt Lake City.
