UEA ADDS 7 TO HONOR ROLL OF CITIZENS

The Utah Education Association has added seven names to its "Honor Roll" of citizens who have made noteworthy contributions to public schools.

In addition, Charles E. Bennett, a former educator and legislator, was honored by the UEA for accomplishments in human and civil rights. Bennett's name was given to the human and civil rights award as he became the first recipient.Others honored during the UEA Honor Roll Evening recently were Garff Enterprises, for substantial contributions to Granite District schools; Pat Hales, Utah PTA president, for "slam-bang advocacy" for children; Davis Superintendent Richard Kendell for superior leadership in teacher issues; KTVX Channel 4 for the "For Kids' Sake" program; Dr. Rodney Pollary for his clinic's goodwill toward school employees; South Sanpete Superintendent Lewis S. Mullins for efforts to assure students a full year of professional instruction if a teacher walkout had occurred; and KSL-TV for its Weatherschool project.
