Three new stakes have been created - two in Mexico and one in Farmington, Utah.

Elder J. Richard Clarke of the Presidency of the Seventy created the Farmington Utah South Stake, with a membership of 2,662 members. The new stake includes the Farmington 2nd, 4th, 9th, 11th, 18th and 19th wards.Elder Horacio A. Tenorio of the Seventy formed the Gomez Palacio Mexico La Laguna Stake, which consists of the Campestre, Jardin, Juan Eugenio, Morelos, and Nazas wards and the Juan E. Garcia branch.

Elder Jacob de Jager of the Seventy created the Guadalajara Mexico Reforma Stake, which has 2,542 members in the Libertad, Miravalle, Reforma, Revolucion, and Tlaquepaque wards, and the Arroyo de Enmedio, El Castillo, Polanco, San Pedrito, Tonala and Victoria branches.

Elsewhere, stakes were reorganized in Brigham City, Ogden, Provo, and West Jordan, Utah; Meridian, Idaho; and Springfield, Mo.

PROVO UTAH WEST STAKE: (May 20, 1990) President - Scott B. Froerer, 41, BYU department head, succeeding G. Robert Smith; former high councilor, stake Young Men president, bishop, and Scoutmaster, married Kathy Mortensen. Counselors - Michael Wayne Smith, 44, advertising executive, former bishop, married Mary Ann Haddock; Dwight LeRoy Dennis, 48, city director of parks and recreation, former high councilor, bishop and counselor, married Janice Wilhelmsen.
