Dwan Jacobsen Young, former Primary general president, and former regional representative Glendon E. Johnson were two of 16 recipients of the Silver Buffalo award given this year by the Boy Scouts of America.
The two were honored for "peerless service to youth" at a national court of honor May 25 in conjunction with the BSA's biennial meeting.Sister Young served as general Primary president from 1980 to 1988. She now is in Canada where her husband, Thomas Young Jr., is president of the Canada Calgary Mission.
Johnson, former regional representative and stake president, is a member of the Miami 2nd Ward, Miami Florida Stake. He is president and chief executive officer of John Alden Insurance Co.
Sister Young and Brother Johnson have served in a variety of Scouting positions and have received other awards and honors from BSA.
