Health care is the subject for the next Salt Lake Area Chamber of Commerce's Leadership Utah session June 15 at 8:15 a.m. in the chamber briefing center, 175 E. 400 South.
Some of the speakers will be Michael Stapley, vice president of benefits administration for Deseret Mutual Benefit Association; Jay Jacobson, chief of the Medical Ethics Division at LDS Hospital; Lew Hancock, program director of The Recovery Unit at the Western Institute of Neuropsychiatry; and Lynda Jeppesen, senior marketing director of Blue Cross/Blue Shield.Discussing the rising cost of health care will be a panel consisting of Dr. John Nelson, Utah Medical Association president; Elliott Williams, an attorney; William Nelson, executive vice president, Intermountain Health Care; and Quinn MacKay, executive director, Utah Health Cost Management Foundation.
The meeting also will include a tour of the recently-opened Primary Children's Medical Center.
Leadership Utah brings together 35 business people to learn about government, education, communities, social issues and problems facing the community.
