28 MILES OF TRAILS WILL BE BUILT AROUND PARTS OF STRAWBERRY

About 28 miles of trails will be built around parts of the Strawberry Reservoir shoreline, and six miles of the Great Western Trail will be built nearby, according to Uinta National Forest officials.

Heber District ranger Roy H. Daniels wrote that the project is to "provide shoreline access and access to and on the Great Western Trail for fishing, hiking, horseback riding, mountain-bike riding, viewing wildlife and other uses."The Great Western Trail is a recently inaugurated route that runs from Canada to Mexico through five states, going through spectacular back-country scenery. The portion where Daniels authorized construction is on Strawberry Ridge at the Strawberry Recreation Area and in the Strawberry River's drainage in Wasatch County.
