PUBLIC HEARING ON PROVO BUDGET IS SET FOR TONIGHT

The Provo City Council will hold a public hearing tonight on its proposed 1990-91 budget.

The council has reviewed the $74.3 million budget during several study sessions. The budget includes a one-time, 3 percent salary increase for all full-time employees and a 4 percent increase for part-time employees. It also includes an allocation of $111,000 for the purchase of new books at the library, $8.3 million in capital improvement projects and $700,000 for capital improvements to city buildings and facilities.The council also will consider a revised cable television ordinance.

The council meetings will begin at 7 p.m. in the council chambers at City Hall, 359 W. Center St.
