Utah government officials will offer tips on how to start a home-sewing business Thursday, June 14, at Brigham Young University.

As part of the three-day annual BYU sewing conference (June 13-15), Glen Stone and Richard Blair, consultants with the Utah Procurement Outreach Program, will discuss bidding opportunities and procedures, how to sell to the federal government, how to contact the proper agencies and how to market skills.They also will review how the Commerce Business Daily (CBD) enables people to use a computerized system to look up government contracts for bids. Their lecture, which is free and open to the public, will be at 7:30 p.m. in the BYU Conference Center Auditorium.
