State licensing regulators have indefinitely suspended the nursing license of Vickie L. Cooley, Riverdale, accused of violating state nursing law by mischarting drug administrations, illegally possessing controlled substances and abusing patients, an order said.
According to a stipulation and order filed with the Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing, Cooley worked at four Ogden nursing homes from November 1986 to May 1988, and at all facilities she was found inaccurately recording drug administrations to patients.At one nursing home Cooley physically and verbally abused two patients in forcing them to take medication, the order said, and she was fired over the two incidents.
In May 1988, Cooley was arrested for unlawful possession of a controlled substance after her advisers asked her to empty her purse and they found two tablets of Phenobarbital, the order said.
According to the stipulation, Cooley agreed to have her license placed on indefinite suspension. She may petition the board for reinstatement.
