JONES LEAVES FOOTBALL FOR BOXING - AGAIN

Ed "Too Tall" Jones, who set Dallas Cowboys records for games and seasons played, has retired to become a boxing manager.

The 39-year-old Jones, a first-round pick from Tennessee State in 1974, never missed a game other than a one-year absence in 1979 when he left football to pursue a boxing career.Jones, 6-foot-9, played in 245 games and was on three Super Bowl teams. He was a three-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro selection. He blocked 86 passes, recovered 19 fumbles and recorded 105 sacks.
