Dean Spillman, 70, of Logan, passed away at his home on June 4, 1990 after a long illness.
He was born on August 22, 1919 in Logan to Thomas Glenn Jr. and Ida Ruth Bistline Spillman. He married Blanche R. Bench on September 14, 1948, later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. He joined the U.S. Army in 1939. When WWII began, he served with the Infantry 3rd Division in North Africa and Italy where he was wounded and awarded the Purple Heart. He was life member of the Disabled American Veterans. He retired in 1984 after many years with the USDA Forest Service. He loved outdoor activities.
Survivors include his wife of Logan; Step-son, Dean R. and Joyce Bench of Logan; One brother, Thomas Glenn Jr. and Rachel Spillman of Murray; One grandchild, four great-grandchildren, one nephew, two nieces and their families.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 8, 1990 at 12:00 noon at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E. Center St., Logan. Friends may call at the mortuary from 10:30 till service time on Friday. Burial will be in the Logan City cemetery with Military Rites by American Legion Post #7.
