The Defense Department announced $4 billion in arms sales to Saudi Arabia that include 1,117 light armored vehicles, 2,000 anti-tank missiles and upgrades for its AWACS early-warning radar planes.

This is in addition to the pending proposal to sell Saudi Arabia 315 advanced M1A2 Abrams battle tanks, 30 recovery vehicles, 175 trucks and other support equipment for $3.1 billion that was announced last November.A $3.4 billion contract will provide the Saudi Arabian National Guard with 1,117 LAVs, which are similar to armored personnel carriers, 2,000 TOW anti-tank missiles, 116 TOW launchers, 27 155mm howitzer cannon, design and construction of ranges and maintenance facilities, ammunition and training.
