A total of 103 outstanding Murray School District students have received the fourth annual superintendent's awards.

The students received plaques and gift certificates or savings bonds. The awards were presented by Superintendent Ron Stephens,who said the district wishes to encourage honor students to continue to achieve academically and encourage others to do the same.At Murray High School, 20 seniors were selected based on their grades in Advanced Placement classes and scores on AP tests. They were Angela Anderson, Michael Buma, Lori Longmore, Brian Moody, Amy Burton, Jennifer Christensen, Joshua Dalton, Nathan Davis, Jennifer Donaldson, Heather Fitzgerald, Travis Lloyd, Erik Myrup, Heather Nenow, Katherine Robinson, Rebecca Robinson, Jeffrey Roylance, Eric Smith, Tanya Summerhays, Lisa Tew and Kimberly Watts.

At the Alternative School, the district honored student Jennifer Lee Bratt, who has shown the most improvement during the school year.

At Hillcrest Junior High School, students honored were Shari Daw, Curtis McDonald, Debi Morgan, Elizabeth Nielsen and Chelsey Whitney, ninth grade; Emily Burton, Scott Evans, Jeff Nelson,, Jammie Stauffer and Amy Summerhays, eighth grade; Mark Aoyagi, Susan Christensen, Jessical Matsumori, Steve Morgan and Alison Zumbro, seventh grade.

At Riverview Junior High, the award winners were: Mindy Checketts, Chris Dallof, Michael Nelson, Trent Smith and Rochelle West, ninth grade; Jacob Bernhardt, April Culter, Brian Gurney, Christopher Hyde and Matthew Nelson, eighth grade; Cori Givan, Ann Jewkes, Kathy Kawaguchi, Walker Mackay and Matthew Myers, seventh grade.

Grant Elementary students were: Jamie Smith, first grade; Gregory Meador, second; Benjamin Margetts, third; Lydia Mayne, fourth; Jamie Merrill, fifth; Kamille Smith, sixth.

Horizon Elementary students were: Maria Davis, first grade; Kirstin Page, second; Marianne Myers, third; Ramsi Knowlton, fourth; Emily Murray, fifth grade; Cami Checketts and Wendy Erickson, sixth.

Liberty Elementary students were: Emily Dickson, first grade; Cameron Carling, second; Betsy DeMann, third, Christopher Weed, fourth; and Jennie Radford, sixth.

McMillan Elementary students were: Danielle Rasmussen, first; Jacob Dietz, second; Brett Teran and Jason Smith, third; Leslie Allard and Jeffery Hansen, fourth; Marianne Rasmussen, fifth; Elizabeth Coray, sixth.

Parkside Elementary students were: Sara Scott, first grade; Emily Jensen, second; Melanie Potter, third; Jamie Brass, fourth; Emily Summerhays, sixth.

Viewmont Elementary students were: Nathan Copier, first grade; Julie Hales, second; Joshua Cummings, third; Michelle Wellington, fourth; Brendon Davies, fifth; Matthew McEwen, sixth.
