MOST EAST BLOC AID TO CAMBODIA WILL CEASE

The Soviet Union and East European nations that have been giving aid to the Cambodian government intend to halt most of their economic assistance to Phnom Penh, The Washington Post reported Friday.

In a dispatch from Paris, the Post said the Vietnamese-backed government in Phnom Penh was told in the past month that as of January 1991 aid from Warsaw Pact countries will largely be replaced by pay-as-you-go commercial exchanges. The story was based on a confidential report the Post said it obtained.
