CENTERVILLE OKS BOND SALE FOR WATER SYSTEM

The City Council gave final approval Tuesday for the sale of $310,000 in revenue bonds to finance improvements in the city's culinary water system. .

The bonds will be sold next month and rebuilding of part of the city's water system will probably begin in July, according to the council. The bonds will be repaid over five years with revenue generated by an increase in the city's water rate, approved last fall by the council after a public hearing.

A citizen's committee spent several months in 1989 studying the city's water system, especially the older segments in south Centerville, and recommended improvements be funded partly by selling bonds and partly by accumulating funds from the rate increase.
