NCAA TARGETS MARYLAND AGAIN

The NCAA will send investigators to the University of Maryland and investigate possible "illegal practices" by coach Gary Williams, athletic director Lew Perkins has confirmed.

The investigation is expected to begin in late June and will focus on alleged team practices held before the pre-season began Oct. 15.Perkins confirmed a report in The Washington Times today that Williams admitted to watching the workouts on a limited basis. In a prepared statement, Perkins said he expected the "review to be brief" and the NCAA considered William's infraction "separate from the charges that led to the NCAA sanction" imposed upon the school earlier this year.
