Officer Ralph Whitney was sitting in the Seattle Police Department's north precinct when a prisoner dropped in on him. Literally.
Whitney said a 31-year-old prisoner broke through the ceiling above the office Thursday during an escape attempt. The prisoner, identified only as a 160-pound man being held for violating a no-contact order in a domestic violence case, climbed through a hole behind a public address speaker in his cell and managed to slip through the building before he slipped through the ceiling above Whitney.
Whitney said he heard a noise overhead and looked up to see an arm poking through the ceiling. The man was recaptured without incident.
