MaRee Clawson Buehler, 71, of Logan, died Wednesday, July 11, 1990 at her home.
She was born February 8, 1919 in Hyrum, Utah a daughter of Albin T. and Vinnie Nielsen Clawson. She married Vernon M. Buehler on September 18, 1940 in the Logan LDS Temple. Ma Ree was a fashion model in Honolulu and Washington, D.C. She held administrative positions in various organizations while accompanying her husband during his 27 years in the Army. These included serving as executive secretary to Ambassador Maxwell D. Taylor, the former Chairman to the Joint Chiefs of Staff and military advisor to President Kennedy. She was active in numerous Army auxiliary activities including being president of the Washington, D.C. Army Finance Wives. Ma Ree participated in many charitable organizations and had a life-long compassion for the unfortunate. Upon returning to Logan in 1967, she devoted most of her efforts to comforting her invalid mother prior to her death in 1979. She and her husband are members of the Old Main Society and Logan Golf and Country Club.She was a member of the LDS Church.Survivors include her husband of Logan, three brothers, Wayne L. Clawson, Salt Lake City, Ray A. Clawson, Salt Lake City; Don R. Clawson, Hyrum; two sisters, Mrs. Muriel Jensen, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Marlene Burnett, Bountiful. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack R. and Alan T., three sisters, Fern Moskowitz, Gwen Clawson, Helen Hammerickson.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 pm at the Allen-Hall Mortuary chapel. Friends may call at the mortuary Thursday evening from 7-9 pm and one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery.In lieu of flowers the family suggests that contributions be made to the Sunshine Terrace Foundation, Logan, Utah 84321.
